Our Stories

As I travel 'round this city, it starts to look shitty,
or am I growing old?
The copper patina, the rust colored brick,
it's been bought and sold
As I walk to the corner store, past the old weathered whore, their stories ain't told
Where new and improved is what makes the news, while the history is lost
In our hearts, in our minds
is where they reside
The memories of youth, from seed to the fruit
in the bright azure sky
Our stories, Past glories,
set to melody and sound
Our stories, Allegories,
through the notes they resound
As the buildings combust, we'll return to dust,
at the end of the line
Who will remember, the glory and slendor?
art lost to time
This life's all we have, until we collapse,
we don't age like wine
But until that day comes, I'll sit here and strum,
so the past is not lost

Leucothea

On the coldest hour of the darkest night
I've got her to keep me warm
When my ship sails out far from the coast
I know she's standing with me in the storm
When the waters are rough and I'm soaking wet sometimes I can forget
My first mate is a fisher of men
and she's caught me in her net
We've traveled the rough and stormy seas;
our battles terrible, fierce and loud
Cussing, Cursing and angry words
enough to make any sailor proud
But every dusk must bring a dawn;
Every storm blows itself out
When we stand up strong
after hanging on I know there is no doubt...
The ropes we use to tie our binds
are weathered from many storms
But our lives are intertwined like a bowline,
and our anchor hitch is strong
Like Leucothea in the Odyssey,
she guides me like a bird
And in return like Homer,
I dedicate to her these words

Intro
C F A G
Verse I
C F A G
Always lived near the ocean
South on Massachusetts Bay
From Plymouth to Weymouth
These are the towns we play
We'll take suburbia, no urban hell
Our sky's a brighter shade of blue
We live on the South Shore
We boast it proud and true!
Chorus
C G F C G
And here we stand
Looking out over the bay
We're the South Shore Punk Rock Kids
From Waymouth to the Cape
Our ethic: DIY or Die
we don't care where we play
Our roots are the South Shore
and here we'll always stay
Verse II
We'll play any church basement or hall
We'll make you move your feet
The afterparty is at 105,
the house right down the street!
The scene has died but we'll bring it back
Cause we learned from the best
Now the torch, it has been passed
And we will never rest
